Our History
Native Organic Cotton was founded in 1998 to specialize in making high quality organic cotton textiles, sustainably and responsibly, closer to home.
Started by siblings Michele and Marc Chase, their experience and passions for design and apparel combined. Creating imaginative printed textiles in the 1970s, inspired by traditional crafts and workmanship. Their unique line of resort apparel garnered accounts with fashion industry icons including Neiman-Marcus, Bergdorf-Goodman, and Henri Bendel.
Working in the apparel industry, they became increasingly aware of the impact of commodity cotton production in terms of environmental destruction, community health, and unfair labor practices. Determined to do better, Native Organic Cotton was born.
Our vertical production process enables us to ensure traditional values of quality and craft while keeping costs low, profit distribution fair, and minimizing environmental impact.
